“Evolution of the Girl Child” Exhibit
The Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts will display “Evolution of the Girl Child, “ an art exhibit curated by the King Arts Complex, from January 17th through February 28th. The exhibit is open to the public during McCoy Center performances, as well as Tuesday evening from 6pm - 8pm and Sunday afternoons from 2pm - 4pm. There is no cost to view the exhibit.
The exhibit is the inaugural exhibition of Sistahs of the Arts, a collective of 21 African American women artists based in Columbus, Ohio. The exhibition focuses on a diverse range of aesthetic offerings from collective members who share their personal journeys as women using their artistic talents as their voice, and celebrates the beauty and strength of African American women artists.
